Here's an interesting write-up on horror/dark fantasy author H.P. Lovecraft and his supposed links to parnormal studies. I don't know how valid the article it, but it's interesting.
And if you like coffee with your haunted house, this nutty website is the place for you!

I love horror, yet can you believe I never read Lovecraft? I've been meaning to forever, but . . .
Thanks for the reminder. I'll have to get myself to the library in a hurry . . .
It's been ages since I read Lovecraft, but I remember liking him a lot. Worth it for any horror junkie, I might add. Thanks for the link to the really interesting article, too!
I was obsessed with Lovecraft in undergrad. He's good, creepy fun if his language and near-rampant rascism don't get to you too much.
Awhile ago I started picking up books from a small press issuing theme anthologies by people like Derleth, Ambrose Bierce, Lovecraft, etc where they would really play off of each others stories and expand on one another's ideas. A lot of the whole Chthulu mythos stuff came out of that. The whole concept of a community of writers like that I found very appealing. Sadly, I think the press is no more.
And Michele--you really need to read Lovecraft if you like horror. I thank the family friend who introduced me to him everytime I read him.
Haha, I hadn't clicked on "the coffee pot ghost" before I saw "White Noise" or was talking about EVP on my blog. Too funny! (I think! Hee.)
I take it as funny, but this little piece of me wants it to be real.
